Summer Home Maintenance Tips

 

• Remove lint from inside and outside washer hoses and dryer vents.
• Oil garage-door opener and grease the chain, garage door runners, and carefully oil all door hinges and locks – a couple of drips of 3 in ! works wonders!
• Clean kitchen exhaust fan filter, most of the stainless steel ones can be dropped in the dishwasher and run on intensive to get that grease out!
• Clean behind the refrigerator and freezer and empty and clean those drip trays that sit on the compressor low down behind.
• Check dishwasher for leaks and accumulated detergent and food waste.
• Check kitchens, washrooms and toilets for leaks.
• Replace interior and exterior faucet and shower-head washers if needed and sanitize aerators. Remember to drain off shower heads and hoses if heading up to the cabin for a month!
• Prune trees and shrubs paying attention to low branches and crown shapes.
