  • Inspect roofing (yet again) for missing, loose, or damaged shingles and leaks. In our experience, catching small roof problems early is the secret to avoiding larger costly repairs later
  • Inspect chimney for damage.
  • Clean window and door screens.
  • Change the air-conditioner filter.
  • Vacuum lint from dryer vent and all behind the dryer – you’ll be amazed how much is hiding down there!
  • Polish wood furniture with an appropriate polish, and dust light fixtures.
  • Clean then Refinish the deck with a microporous deck paint to protect and beautify your outdoor space ready for the long warm summer ahead.
  • Power-wash windows and siding, paying attention to caulking and finishes – if areas of loose paint come off or caulking unsticks, then these should be replaced before water gets in behind them and causes damage.
  • Remove leaves and debris from gutters and downspouts – blocked drains aren’t fun!
  • Check the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, there’s a test button, use it regularly!
  • If applicable, have a professional inspect and pump the septic tank, otherwise if connected to the mains drains, check inspection manholes on your property to ensure everything is flowing as it should.
  • Inspect sink, shower, and bath caulking for deterioration. Traces of mold or discolouration is usually a sign it’s time to refresh your silicone sealant.
  • Remove the Fall and Winter insulation from outdoor faucets and check garden sprinkler heads for correct operation.
  • Have air-conditioning system sanitized and serviced.
  • Drain and flush the hot water heater.
  • Fertilize, Aerate and treat the lawn with moss killer.
